Default To Rebel or Not to Rebel

I am a new parent as of Dec. I really fell in love with the M50 and plan to get one but I dont currently have the funds (being a teacher). Anyway I have the means to purchase a 04 Honda Rebel $1500. My question is should I go ahead and buy it and then resell later or just save the money for the M50. I really love to ride but dont have a bike of my own.

The Rebel is a nice and very solid and dependable bike, and $1500 for an '04 is a steal. You should buy it right now, before it's gone! I've seen 15 year old Rebel 250s sell for more than that!

You'll have a bike to ride, that's always a plus!

A Very good learning bike and at $1500 that sounds like a great price.

Make sure it fits you first. The Rebel is kinda cramped for taller folks.

You'll get every dime out of the bike when you're done with it.

My philosophy has always been "whatever it takes to get on two wheels."

Which is why I have no money right now. I bought mine brand new.

Thumbs up

Buy it quick and sell it when you are ready to move up you will probably sell it for at least what you paid for it. Not a bad deal eh

Few bikes will let you do that, but this bike is certainly an exception. The price is good and there's always a big demand with smart new riders.

MSF Course??? Teachers even benefit from taking it.

Congratulations on the new bike.

Alright! Now you get to enjoy the ride. The advice to take the MSF class is also very good - it will make you safer and you will enjoy the ride more too.

Thanks to all. Took it out for a ride today. My butt got a little tired after about 45 min but cant complain. I know this isnt meant to take on long rides. Handles well and suprisingly has a little power. I can cruise at 65 to 70 with no problem. Im 5'10" and 160.

Your butt will toughen up with experience. (please don't take this out of this thread's context...)
