Default mid pipes exaust systems

i ride a 2005 sv650 unfaired version motorcycle..i was told by my dealer that if i added a two brothers mid pipe that i would gain anywhere from 3-6 HP..keep in mind this is not a full system and requires no remapping,,,anyone have any experience with these? i think he is just trying to BS me into spending money and everyone else i speak to tells me the same thing that i can expect no perfomance gain from a mid pipe....any help would be appreciated..

Just the midpipe, or a midpipe and can? Suzuki's midpipes are known to be restrictive, so I'm not surprised he suggested that, but usually it's along with a can.

yes, its a midpipe and a can..a two brothers racing can to be specific..the newer SV's wont allow a slip on pipe because there is no flange to attach it too so a mid pipe/can is the only option other than a full system

You will see modest power gains. It's pretty much across the board for bikes like ours. I wouldn't buy from the dealer, though, unless he gives you a deal. Check what the parts go for online and lever him.
