  |  Alpinestars jacket and helmet for $200. Good deal? A guy I work with has some old gear he needs to get rid of (new bike, different color). He has an Alpinestars leather Red Bull racing jacket, that SUPPOSEDLY there was only 50 or so made. It's like brand new, never skidded in or anything. Then he also has a helmet, I thought it was a Shoei, but I don't remember. Anyway, he said the jacket was a $600 jacket that he knows he could get a lot of money for, but he figured he'd sell it to me for a good price just so he could get rid of it (doesn't have time to sell it on eBay, okay.......). Does anybody know anything about this jacket? He offered them both for $200, I figure I could pick them up and turn around and resell them and make a quick buck. Thoughts? I'll try and get more info on the helmet monday.

 | Sounds like a good deal. The jacket alone is probably worth double that. Helmets do wear out though. The foam in the helmet breaks down over time and the shell will also if it gets ti much sun. I,ve never bought or used an old helmet given ti me. I just think of all the sweating and stuff I do in mine. I disinfect my brain bucket fairly often and I don't loan it out...Yuk.

| Pishposh. You won't get anything for the helmet unless you can sell it as new. I wouldn't buy it unless you want it for yourself.

| I ended up passing on that deal, in favor of another jacket. It's a GPStar Miyuki Racing jacket and gloves for $200. It matches my bike real well. I'll try and get some pics tonight.
