Default How closely do you follow the weather?

I've had a habit of watching the weather channel every morning, which is a great way to be prepared days in advance for whatever weather rolls in.

Does anyone else here follow the weather or just take it day-by day?

Ten day outlook doesn't really change much here. Low between 55 to 65 and highs between 75 to 85. Been that way for the past month and a half with no rain to mention and cjange for the next month or to, maybe just a little warmer.

I'm anal about it. I have 3 weather links I use at home and at work, with the best being NOAA No ads, the most accurate (1-2 day) and many options.

I'm in the office at work, and part of my job is notification of employees at the job site (construction) of weather changes.

Anything past a 3 day forcast, is about 60% accurate. Forcasts of rain, 3 days a head, are usually in 4 days, a day later.

5-7 days out are about 40% reliable.

I'd say I follow the weather via internet/TV on a regular basis. Typically get alot of rain here in the spring and fall. Because the weather here is so erratic, and I commute to work on the M (weather permitting), I follow it closely to determine my mode of transport and the clothes I need to pack.
Summer here is usually rain free for most of July and August. Looking forward to just getting up in the morning expecting sun. Can't wait.

I'm a weather watcher! You can experience all 4 seasons in one day in Colorado.

Constantly. Intellicast.com. I ride around the storms frequently on wet days. Getting ready to go now after the centre line of the pavement has dried out. Also use Environment Canada and the Weather Network.

The weather predictions around here are unreliable. (Besides temperatures) Last night I was out in the middle of BFE ignoring the weather predictions and sure enough I got surrounded by a lightning storm and had to hull ### home. I already got caught in the rain at lunch and didn’t want to get caught a second time in one day.

To answer your question, before I leave I check the forecast and Doppler then make my own assumptions.

i watch it all the time and even have a site set on my computer that gives instant radar. it's been around 90 the last couple days here in k.c. and i thought about a road trip saturday, but now they're saying scattered storms. what gripes me is after you cancel a trip, then find out the weather changed back for the good. i hate riding in the rain! later, bud

I just looked at Weather.com, getting ready for a ride up to Blue Licks State Park for dinner with a group of Southern Cruisers. It looks like the storm will be past when we start out. The forecasts are there, but I look at the radar to see where the scattered storms actually are. Around here, you need to check frequently!

Yep, I follow the weather, I even check weather.com on my Treo 650 PDA/Phone when I'm out if things look dicey. A good rainsuit is nice too, for those times when your best forecasting efforts aren't quite right.

I have a PDA phone (Treo 650) and can check the radar from anywhere with looping radar. I can visit any website on the net with that phone. I never get caught in the rain. I work a family business and I left 2 hours late today to let it dry-out before heading out on my bike.

i do weather.com every morning to see if i'm putting on riding gear, or driving gear.
being in AZ all i'm really looking for is the ever-so-slight chance of rain, or if it's going to break 100 degrees (F) i'm not taking black, air cooled bike out into traffic.
It didnt rain at ALL this year and I was still obsessing over the weather - I could just imagine living somewhere with an actual climate, I'd go nuts!

Unfortunatly I live in michigan and I check that thing religiously, but its michigan so the weather never is what it says. Already twice I read sunny day, get to work, check again rain on way *sigh* Twice caught in the rain its getting crappy, but still totally worth the gas omg.
