Default Stopped for a fellow rider

I saw a young lady stranded on her Bandit. I saw no one giving two poops to help her, so I pulled over and asked her what was wrong. She said she wasn't sure. She thought maybe it had over heated. Now, I know we all hate asking and hearing those dumb questions, but I have been in this situation before and felt like a clown.

Me-Do you have gas?
Her- I think I just filled up the other day and haven't ridden much
Me-Well, it's easy to lose track. Give the tank a check and if it looks low, turn on the reserve.

....it starts right up. I told her no worries, I have done the same exact thing before. I should have waited though, because when I pulled awway, she was still sitting there. I hope everything was ok when I left.

I had to pick up my friend off the side of the interstate. :o

Yeah, I asked him like 6 times, do you have gas?

No gas. He owes me big time.

Great job to help out a fellow rider.

For me having gas is not a question but usually a statement.
"(Proot).....sorry, I have Gas"

Good job man! Just goes to show that you don't have to be mechanically inclined to help someone out. Sometimes its very simple.

Very good statement. I have stopped to help before. Didn't know nothing about his problem, but he was thankful that someone stopped. He told me he had been sitting on the road for about an hour. His cell phone battery was dead. Used mine and I waited until his Dad arrived.

Cool, always a good thing to stop to help a bike rider.

Once stopped to help a HD rider, "It just quit" he said, another Jap bike rider had stopped & had headed to call for help (this was before cell phones were that common, 1990) about an hour before I had gotten there, the rider was suppose to come back so since it had been awhile I said I would stay to make sure he got some help. The rider came back with a soda & good news that he had gotten ahold of the HD rider's brother who was on his way with his truck & trailer, then he took off.

The HD rider was on his way to meet a female for the first time to go on a date, he gave me her number to call her & let her know what was going on, which I did.

Now, if this was a perfect world you would have ended up marrying her

Good look, I already had to play the reserve freak out myself, its goofy if you've never had to use it before.

I had a friend who was supposed to ride to a bike show with me. He showed up late, complaining his bike was intermittently running like crap. We took off anyway and soon after he pulled off the road.

I stop to see what's up, and he said to go on without him, as his bike had started to die again. I asked if he had gas, and he said yes, as he'd looked in the tank. I reached down and switched his petcock from on to reserve and told him to try it.

His bike started right up and ran like a top. We then rode to the gas station where he filled it up.
