Default One more time....

It was time well spent today, reviewing what I was paying Progressive for my cycle policy. Two bikes insured with comprehensive= $707/yr. Got online quote from Geico for identical coverage= $473/yr. Fired Progressive.....

I use the Gecko too. I used to have progressive but when it came time to renew and I was going to have to pay just for the privelage of having them for insurance on top of increased rate with no accidents or tickets.

My comprehensive for 1 bike is $654 and that was the deal!

Our primary carrier (ICBC) wanted $1133 for the comprehensive.

Good on you for the saved $$$.
Insurance differences between our countries always gets me going.

Thought I'd rant a bit to remind you guys that even without the little green sidekick, you're all still miles ahead of us insurance poor Canucks.

If I had that cute little emoticon with the jaw dropping to the floor. I'd insert it here.

Louis, time to put some OT on the 'emoticon update project'.

Allow me.

I was about to apply online at Geico. When they asked me about my current policy I had to look it up. I'm paying $282 a year with Progressive, down from a high of over $400. They must be facing stiff competition to drop prices like that.

Update: I ran Geico. They want $318 for as close to the same as I can come. Comparable, at least.

I know I'm bringing back an old thread, but this is the closest to date about insurance I have found. My parents were looking around and said that it was $6,000/yr for coverage. I live in michigan, does anyone know a good provider that won't shaft me because I'm 19?

I can tell you to go to www.bike-line.com and get a quote, but 19 year olds with sporty bikes don't have the lowest rates. A clean driving record helps too - but being 19 is rough for car and bike insurance. Bike-line.com was the best deal for me, you need to shop around - and you might also consider just the libility insurance. You can find a nice Kat for $6000.

Has anyone here filed a claim through Geico yet? I'm curious to see if it's any more difficult than with any other insurance provider.
