Gotta love this one in the local news.

http://www.torontosun.com/News/Toron...94062-sun.html

150 km an hour into the back of a semi.

Temperature at 4:00 pm was was 35 degrees Farenheit yesterday. I feel sorry for the clown's mother and the poor trucker that had to scrape his guts off the back of his truck. Shouldn't have to be part of the job description!

At least he was wearing his safety gear even if they found the helmet on the other side of the road!

why is it that young men are so careless?

makes me want to chain my son up in a basement till he's 30.

Some people wonder why a lot of us discourage younger riders from starting out with supersports. The news article above was certainly a reality check. I too feel sorry for his mother, the trucker, and anyone else who witnessed that crash.

Wearing a helmet isn't enough by itself to make a rider safe. You need to use the stuff inside that helmet too. What a waste.

Very sad.

A Similar thing thing happened to one of my cousins, it was night & he had pulled off of I-70 somewhere west of St. Louis, he said he was going about 25mph when he heard a thud & felt something hit his rig in the back, he stopped & got out, parts of bike & person were strung from the rear of his trailer past the front of the rig. The metal rung in the back below the trailer was bent up to the bed, almost parallel. The kid was playing tag on the interstate with a friend who passed out when he seen what happened to the guy.
Estimated speed was 150mph.

My cousin quit driving afer that.

Now that is very sad. It's bad enough when some squid ruins his/her own life, but when they do this sort of thing to someone else - it's just terrible.

Default Squid update

http://torontosun.com/News/TorontoAn...95441-sun.html

To put the Toronto area traffic in perspective. Would you race on the on the I-10 into LA at 4:00 pm on a Friday. How about '95 in Boston or the Beltway around Washington? The Toronto traffic is just this intense and it is remarkable that anyone could be so foolish. I hate sounding like an "Old Fart" cause I have been there and done that but never at a hundred miles an hour in traffic.

Take it to the track and learn how to go fast without killing yourself. I haven't the balls to ride a sport bike and a cruiser is pushing it as I just don't heal up like I used to. I guess I am jealous of those that have the skill set and fearless attitude to be able to experience this thrill. Just don't plaster yourself on the back of a big truck. It is an anti-motorcycle bill board for all to see.

Keep the dirty side down

Maybe we chould get that article and a few others like it, and make a sticky that we can refer to any time a noob chimes in and asks about a 600cc supersport as a first bike. There isn't much we can do about those who are hell bent to prove Darwinism, but maybe a few articles like that could convince someone that starting slow and getting skills first is a good idea.

THE MISSISSAUGA NEWS
Funeral today for 401 bike crash victim

Louie Rosella
Mar 20, 2006

Friends and family of a 22-year-old man from Mississauga who was killed early Friday night when his motorcycle slammed into the back of a transport truck will gather this afternoon for his funeral.
Shivraj Jadeja will be laid to rest this afternoon, a family friend told The News.

Jadeja's Yamaha motorcycle crashed into the back of a slow-moving transport truck in the eastbound express lanes of Hwy. 401, under the Hwy. 400 overpass.

Witnesses have told police Jadeja and a friend riding another bike were weaving in and out of traffic at speeds up to 150 kilometres per hour when they came up on slow moving traffic.

Default Silly Squid, tricks are for ...

I saw a good one today when I was riding to lunch. I pull up to a red light and stoped. A group of 3 pull up in the lane next to me on my left side. I noticed the one closest to me was coming in a little fast. When he got right on the side of me he locked his front tire and the back tire came up about 1 ft. off the ground. I think he did it on purpose, but the first time he does that and the bike isn't straight, the a$$ end is going to pass him.

That was a poor stoppie attempt. Do that on a grease slick, and that'll change him quick from live squid to cooked calamari.
