Army Knowledge Online constantly updates soldiers dying in traffic accidents, and motorcyles/high speeds/youth seems to dominate the reports. They list the incidents as a 'force protection' measure, trying to impress upon soldiers that they need to keep their heads for their own safety and the Army's readiness. It's sad to read about under 30 soldiers getting killed on bikes or in cars...and some of these kids are back from Iraq in one piece, only to die in an accident.

One of the guys in my motor pool told me about a guy in his unit out in Fort Riley, KS...he'd take his crotch rocket (don't remember what kind of bike Josh said it was) out onto the highway right outside the gate, go from one exit to another at 190 MPH- WITHOUT A HELMUT!! No idea what ever became of that guy...hopefully nothing bad though.

I don't doubt that one bit. I live 5 miles from Ft. Carson. Most of the squids trying to impress chicks out on the roads are military. We also have the Airforce Academy, and Peterson A.B. Not all of the G.I.'s are bad riders but there are a lot who demonstrate they are young, dumb, and full of _ _ _.
