Default Knee protection

Just curious! Do any of you protect your knees when riding on the street. If so, how?

My riding pants have CE armor in the knees. Works great!

I find keeping my bike upright helps.

Oh and armoured pants.

Most any real riding pants (not chaps or other fringy decor) will have some armor built in.

Gotta question GSX, I was looking at those....but are Paul's comments pretty much correct about them being for what he calls "average to skinny legs"?

http://www.newenough.com/armor_icon_...r_leg_page.htm

I was previously looking at JR Pheonix mesh pants but the knee armor was below my knee's due to my short stature after trying them on, so was giving the Icon's another look.

THANKS in advance for any insight ya can share.

Mav

You definitely need a skinny leg for these, something I do not have. I can get them on but while riding they do come loose. The only way I can think of to fix that probelm is to take them to a local Fabrics store & see what they can come up with to help extend the length of the velcro straps. The only reason I am willing to try this is because I have a limited income & I am hoping that the "fix" will be fairly cheap.

If you can afford them, you should go with the pants.

It's what I can afford that offers some type of protection.

It does stop the sting of the every once in awhile rock that hits the knee/shin area.

That is one thing I don't do, get my knee down, I have found it difficult to get the big Katana over, not that I have a major interest to do so.

You're welcome.

THANKS much for the info! I'll have to look around town and see if I can't find some to try and rule out them out for sure. Like ya said, I might have to go with some pants if the icon's don't work....maybe a different brand, for the JR over pants don't work for me.

thanks again

Expecting 5-6 inches of snow in the next 18 hours. Currently lots-o-wind & starting to rain, currently 40 degrees.

It sucks that I can't ride but then again I like snow, My other bike is a 4x4

U got snow, we've got heavy rains and temps in the upper 40's to lower 50's. Should be reaching the 60's after tomorrow. By next week, we slowly begin to climb into the lower to mid 70's.
