Default New guy here

Im new here to the boards. I hope to have a bike soon. But right now I have a 1997 RT 180. Which I cant really ride much, one because there is no where around here to ride dirtbikes and two its not street leagal. But I hope to become a motorcycle mechanic. I want to learn more by seaching this forum before I go to school. I already replaced a engine gasket on my 180. Wasnt too hard, but I really enjoyed it.

I have a few questions. I hope to get a bike soon but Im not sure what im lookin at on price. I have searched around a bit but havent really found much. I know yall are going to tell me to get a 250cc and I just might do that. No need for a 600cc for my first bike. I also am curious what I would be lookin at insurance wise.

I also want to find a good motorcycle mechanic school in the Dallas, Ft Worth area. Anyone know of any? Or where I could search online?

Anyhelp would be appreciated. THX!

So hello to all.

Cazyspyder69. Have you narrowed down the style of bike...cruizer or crotchrocket etc.?

Enjoy the forum.

Uhhh...Woops, sorry. I am looking at a crotchrocket. I love the new yamaha R1 but I would NEVER be able to afford that.

Well your on the right track recognizing the fact that a 600 cc is too much too soon. There has been a lot of advice and debate regarding recommendations for first bikes. Explore the forums, and the search feature can be your friend.

Happy reading.
