Default Saw someone riding

Temperature: -4 F with windchill

He was riding on the highway at 60mph.

Crazy guy!!!!

I'd be scared of black ice, and salt patches. That's one crazy rider for sure.

Hard core. Probably because his core was frozen solid.

That guy kept it realer.

I'm spoiled. It doesn't get any colder than the low 30s (F) in the winter in Phoenix.

When it's your only form of transportation, you ride.

-4 with a 60 mph windchill? So it was like 50 out?

Yeah, bit coolish, ridden in those conditions a few times myself.... but not that dangerous really....ice is pretty predictable and if you hit it at the wrong time/speed your going to have problems for sure....just like in the rain, but unless you hit a cage then your usually okay (lets face it, you will be wearing plenty of padding!).....those riding with shorts, t-shirt and thongs (known as Flipflops your way I think) because its a bit warm for the poor dears (and usually no helmet too), now that's CRAZY! Just my 2cents

I didn't think it got that cold down there in the down under. You do realize he was talking -4*F, that's the same as -20*C

Good point mate, saw the F and read C (Doh) ....I now concure....Crazy bugger!!!! BTW, still some parts of mainland Oz get to -7C in the winter....the capital Canberra for example, though this would be rare and would typically average -2C like year before last... I rode everyday for a week like that...add some windchill at 80kph and I guess it would be around -4C....mainly the hands that suffer. It's 41C where I am at the moment (northwest coast of Oz) and would really appreciate a few degrees cooler!

I'm sure I saw the same guy, and then a bunch of others. I suppose there will be more each and every day now that temps are expected to hover in the 50's (10 deg C). Not a moment too soon.
I'd love to join the bunch but my seats are at the upholstery shop until the end of the month. Maybe the weather will be still crappy after all.
