FWIW, (And I really don't care what you guys think of me personally) I already have offered to help fix the road, MANY times. He kept saying he would get the stuff, but he never has. I told him I don't need him to pay for part of the fairing, but he insisted.

Did I ever blame my mother for it? No. If you think I did, re-read my post {edited - no names, please}. I simply said she told me it was dry, so I rode home. I stopped to look for myself before proceeding through the gate. At this point, I should have left it there or done something. It just would have been a lot easier if I had known it was muddy BEFORE I headed home, hence my frustration with my mother. I did NOT go off on her as some of you think. I probably have a better relationship than most of you with my mother. Also, FWIW, I work full0time, and pay for all my own stuff. I paid for the mustang, both my bikes, and the gas and insurance on them. The only thing I don't pay for is rent. Yall need to calm down. I have already mended things with my dad, but I haven't been able to talk to my mother today yet.

I'm glad to hear things are on the up and up with your dad. I'm sure your mother will follow shortly. Best of luck to you... and hope you too will be on the mend.

Glad to hear you say that.

Too many people here think they're Dr. Phil.
Shunning someone, who could learn from encoragement, on a FORUM for their actions when most of our own lives aren't perfect? Come on now!
It's one thing to offer possitive advice, and a totally different thing to slam someone for their actions. "He's 19 and if I were his parent I'd ...." Yeah whatever tough guy. Everyone has a unique relationship with their parents/kids. It's up to each of us to realize this and not push our "Leave it to Beaver" lives onto others.

I'm not holier then thou. I've been guilty of this too but try to manage it as do all of us. Just please try not to cross that line guys, and some might just want to think about apologizing.

CMan, Sorry to hear about your bike going down and I hope the repairs won't add up on ya. I hope your get a chance to mend things with Mom too.
Also remember that these are internet people who hide behind their keyboards. Ignore em.

I am not going to take sides or bash you, but your father was generous in saying he was going to help you rebuild the bike. IMO, he would probably appreciate any help you could give him for helping him to fix the road. Find out what needs to be done next and try and do it yourself, without telling him you are going to do it. Or perhaps, spending some time with him in assisting him one day can help meand this little spat between the two of you. Your father apoligized for hitting you and to me, that says alot about how much he cares about you. It takes alot for a man to apoligize.

Hope you get the road fixed, the bike fixed and you and your father become closer from this silly little incedent. You will look back and laugh about this some day, I promise.

Thanks for the words Teach and Shea. Actually, the damage doesn't look NEAR as severe today as it did last night. The only scratches in the lower fairing is in the graphics, and my dad owns an automotive store where they do graphics. He took my fairing to work this morning, and already replaced part of the graphics, and has the other color ordered to replace the other part. How cool is that?

The upper fairing is a different story. It is scratched pretty deep, but it's not real big. I might be able to sand and paint it without too much trouble. Other than that, I'm buying some flush mount turn signals, and new frame sliders tomorrow, and I'm good to go!

Also, I patched things up with my mom. I came into my room when I got home, and found $100 sitting on my desk with a note saying she was sorry about the bike, and to use it to repair the damage. But I couldn't accept it, so I went out and apologized and gave it back.

The thing about my parents and I, we have always been able to get over things really quickly. One minute we'll want to rip each other's heads off, the next, we're perfectly fine.

My dad and I just got back in from looking at the bike, and I put the lower fairing back on. Actually, it doesn't look bad at all. He said he could take vinyl and lay it over the part of the upper fairing where it was scratched, and that he could take vinyl and cover up every scratch on the bike (including the ones from the previous owner). We're probably gonna do it this wednesday or friday. I'll take before and after pics and show you guys!

So I rode the bike home and ended up wiping out coming through the gate. Broke the right front turn signal, scratched the right side and headlight fairing up, bent my rear brake lever, dented my exhaust pipe, and shattered my frame slider. The frame slider didn't do **** for the fairing, what a waste of money. Thanks for nothing.
Sorry for your little accident. Most likely messed up the rest of your day.

Some how I missed this thread over the last 2 days (been super busy at work). Sorry to hear it went down. I hate the feeling right after it goes. The only real good news is that you get a chance to fix her up and changer a few more things if you like. Did you still have the stock exust?? I know I should know this one but I can't remember.
Once again it sucks she went down. Good luck getting her all back togeather!

I was super pissed, I took my helmet off and chunked it about 30 yards, lol. Yea, it gives me the chance to switch to some flush mount turn signals. I already have a micron slip on exhaust, the previous owner put it on when it tipped over in his driveway and dented the muffler. The dent on the pipe is right below the muffler though, in the actual pipe, but I don't care about that to be honest. Thanks all!

lol, actually it doesn't appear to be damaged. It's taken worse falls than that too. Like when it fell off my toolbox the other day.

Althought it'd probably be a good idea.

K, maybe I've got a warped sense of humour... I spit laughing when I read what Dad said...

...he's going to replace it with gravel.

So... the next sunny day, CmanT is going to come roaring in, knowing full well that the dirt is bone dry, offering good traction... only to find pappy standing in the driveway, leaning on a shovel, beer in hand, admiring his nice work, and CmanT is going to come around the corner... "Whoosh"!!! there goes the front tire, washed out...

In the moment of Silence a body erupts from the wreckage...

"It's CmanT! He' Alive... wait... what's that he saying?"

"Who the !@#$5 put the rocks down without saying a !@#$%ing word to me?

Suddenly mom appears out of no where, and smacks CmanT upside the head for speaking like that to pappy.

ROFLMAO!!! That is one of the funniest things I've heard in a while! I was actually thinking today about how gravel might not be the best stuff to put down.
