Default Little kids and motorcycles

Does anybody else get little kids jumping up and down and waving at you while you're on your bike? When I first started riding, I was on the 250 out on some back roads by my house, stuck behind a school bus (not cus the bus was going slow, but because I didn't have enough power to pass! lol). It stopped to let some kids out. A little girl who was about 7 or so turned and saw me, and started pointing at me and yelling at her friends (who were still getting off the bus), 'look at the motorcycle!' I waved at them and she started jumping up and down, lol.

Then tonight I was fueling up, and a car pulled in. 2 or 3 little kids about 6 or so got out, and one saw me and started yelling "LOOK AT THE MOTORCYCLE! GUYS LOOK!! That's a nice motorcycle!" lol, it was hilarious. I was just finishing fueling up, so I started it up and gave a quick rev and they all screamed. I love little kids! lol, anybody else get this?

I get that quite a lot too. I usually greet them with a wave and/or a quick blip of the throttle. Just seeing their faces light up when they see me ride is priceless.

Ain't kids precious?

It's that "Mean Streak" heritage fellas. The kids think your bikes need to take anger management classes or something.

It is priceless!!!

Where I save my C90T is almost across stree from a public school here in Philadelphia. Mostly when i go down there to warm it up is almost at their dismissal time. There is a little group that eyeball to see if it's me when they see the roller-gate up. They light up when they see me.
The day i was installing the rear rack I stopped a couple of them from fighting to see which one was going to walk on the inner side to be closer to the bike on the sidewalk (My bike). I stopped them both and brought them to the bike, a little talk and even let them touch:
"WOW" "Oh MANNN" "HUMMM " "Daanmmmmm" These is some of the things i heard off their mouth. After that I became "Hey Mister this Mister that". Then they found out that i am E's father (My son Erick) So now we are even cooler. It is a riot to see them as happy and have the opportunity to touch a big bike like that. To them that means a lot. And to me it means even more that they walk away happy satisfied with their little thrill.
Priceless indeed!

That's an awesome story Penjo! Who would have thought that a motorcycle can bring peace to the playground.

Thanks. It is a great thing with those kids.
The area I am talking about is inner city Philadelphia. If you have ever heard or read about the book "Third and Indiana" this is the area I am talking about. This is referred as "getto". There is a share of expensive vehicles but for a lot of these children and even adults items like a C90T Bike, new, all shiny? That can be easily over their limits. So for them to get an opportunity to get close to one and even touch it freely without fear, can become very meaninful to them. Speaking of which. One of them was passing by at one time and lunched towards the bike as it was warming up. I was inside my car waiting. The mother was following him and she screamed so loud, with so much anger, fear in her face, when she saw him going towards it. He stopped dead on his track, afraid. I came out of the car smiling and went right to him "Hey budd!" She froze not knowing how to take it. I introduced myself and told her about knowing him from before and that I lived around there before, blah blah. That is when she told me that she thought he was going to "touch that thing, my God" "If he breaks it?" LOL
Once again my son Erick came into the conversation now we are OK. I got my new name "Erick's Dad"
Of course Mr Erick shows off I am sure.

This is my first year riding and I noticed that with the little kids right away. It feels like you are making their day. The other thing I really enjoy is all the other bike riders who wave. Feels like I made 100's of new friends just by buying a bike! The funny thing is, being my first year, I started waving back by just knodding my head (I wasn't letting go of those handlebars), Then I moved up to lifting my fingers up while keeping most of my hand on the clutch, and now I have graduated to "the wave". I probably left a few guys thinking "what a bas@#rd", can't even wave" in the beginning!

GREAT THREAD FOLKS.
I have also noticed the excitement in kids' eyes when they see the bike(parked or on the road).
I think ALL kids are just drawn to motorcycles naturally. My kids eyes light up the same way when they see a motorcycle. The fact that dad has one does not lessen the excitement or the many "oohs" and "aahhs".

yEA,,,I get that too all the time. Now with "J"s boy "P" he gets all excited when I am suitng up and starts jumping up and down like some Mexican Jumping beans. He starts this hand shaking thing and just hopping up and down. It is the funniest thing you could ever see. His eyes get all wide and he starts asking if I can take him down the road on it.

I took him the other day down the street in the subdivision we live in and he was all giddy. It is a neat feeling to watch the little kids and the bigger kids start staring.

The kids in my neighborhood LOOOVE the Bandit. They all stare and wave when it goes by. And if there is no traffic I should them what a 100+ HP unicycle looks like. THEY REALLY LOVE THAT!!
