It is when you are following a minivan full of them. Every stop, they turn around and wave. It becomes a relief when you go past and wave for the last time.

The funny thing is, being my first year, I started waving back by just knodding my head (I wasn't letting go of those handlebars), Then I moved up to lifting my fingers up while keeping most of my hand on the clutch, and now I have graduated to "the wave". I probably left a few guys thinking "what a bas@#rd", can't even wave" in the beginning!
Same here, I'm getting the wave down. Since I am just cruising the neighborhood right now before I get my license I see the same kids out playing and they love it, especially when you rev it up. However the adult joggers and such don't seem so excited. I can't figure it out.

It does make me smile when I see a kid pop up and wave. What I don't like is the kid jumping all around the car trying to get attention until waved back. Maybe it's the "mom" instinct in me that makes me wonder why the kid isn't in buckled down in a car seat...

I've been reading that thread and it sounds like a lot of fun. Hubby and I are trying to squeeze out some leave/vacation time to try and make the RT06 ride. Sorry!!!

Aloha,
Kehau

I was pumping gas and I hear "big motorcycle" in this cute little voice from behind me and theres a lady and a few kids and the one little one actually has his hand on the rear fender. I like kids and I'm glad they get excited but the exhaust pipe is a couple inches from that fender. I stopped pumping gas and said its hot there watch the pipe and this lady did nothing. She went in and paid and when they came out the kid went right for the bike, so I stopped again and stood at the back of the bike. Just saying be careful, I know it wouldn't have been my fault but I would have felt pretty bad if this kid got burnt.

On my way home from work today, I was on my CBR following a school bus that was carrying middle school students. As the bus stopped to drop off some of the students, a couple of girls in the back were giggling and smiling. Lots of arms extended out of the windows to wave at me (and I waved back in response). All this continued as soon as the bus rolled and about one block later, the bus made a left turn. As the kids waved at me, I flashed the 'peace' sign as my farewell.

I thought it was cool to have even the older kids pumped up about motorcycles. It's like the whole bus was lit up with excitement, and that, to me, was priceless.

Default Are Power Ranger's real ?

I was ridin home from a trip over to Central Oregon, so I stopped at a rest stop in Government Camp (OR) on Mt. Hood. Getting back to my bike, I was getting my jacket and helmet, gloves on (all black leather & black full face helmet), and this little kid (he was about 5) comes running over to me, and I look up and see an anxious Mom trying to catch up. So I look at the kid, and he kooks at me, and he says "Are you a Power Ranger?". and I just said, "No, but I wish I was.." still, he was real excited even if I was'nt the black Power Ranger.

I get a lot of woots and smiles from the kids and teenagers on the SV and then a lot of, "say that's a nice bike, is it a Harley?" from the older guys and gals.
