| Well Sundude and I were heading down to the Miami Boat Show. But we never made it there. We were practically around the corner from the convention center, when we tried switching from the right to the left lane. Sundude in the lead, checked his six, started to accellerate to switch lanes, when the guy in front of him (in a Porshe Cayenne), suddenly stops, before he was looking ahead. By the time he realized the truck, he tried to stop, and clipped the left side of the truck, going down. Luckily we were only going about 5 - 10 miles an hour, before he started to accelerate, so he wasn't going very fast. So his "M" recieved moderate front end damage, some scratches to the left side of the bike. Bent foot peg, kick stand, broken left taillight. He recieved minor road rash on his elbow, bruised thumb, and thighs. He is ok, and was on his feet in no time, and his ego was more bruised than anything else. We had to get the "M" towed to the stealer because the alignment was out of wack. From my point of view, Im still recovering from my incident a few weeks ago, http://www.motorcycle-journal.com/fo...ad.php?t=12753 and it initially shook me up, as it was my first time on the road since my incident, and it was my first time seeing a motorcycle accident. But send good karma to Sundude & wife (who isn't very pleased at the moment )

| Man, rough day. A good reminder to maintain focus when with friends and such. I know it's a problem for me.

| Man that's a shame. Maybe you (Sundude) can some how turn this to your advantage. Perhaps make some changes to the bike. More bling!!

| I just got off the phone with Steve and he's fine aside from soreness, scrapes and some contusions. He's going to be taking it easy tonight, maybe checking in here tomorrow. The front of the bike is messed up including the handlebars and forks. It will be about two weeks or more in the shop. I'm just thrilled he's okay, as my heart skipped a beat when I first read this thread's title! I was going to go with them, but I got the message late last night and had already made plans to rebuild my fence today. Get well soon wishes to you Steve! ... jeez, I'm thinking twice about hanging around with you guys!

| Guys...sorry to hear about the accident. My jaw dropped as well to hear that one of our own was involved. The responses above are a testiment to the 'family feel' we have on this forum. When I read Sundude was involved, it felt like a brother had gone down, and in a sense, one did. Trini0...a real drag to have to witness something like this while still healing yourself. Hang tough you guys...heal up, mentally and physically. Glad this can be a learning experience and nothing more serious. Sundude, regarding the comment of your wife not being pleased... I can only assume the reasons why she isn't pleased, but letting her see the support system you have here may lift her spirits as well... All the best to Sundude and Trini0. Keep us posted on any developments.

| You know, upon reading the thread trini0 linked in his initial post, I believe this is a terrific case of 'one good turn deserves another.' In both sundude's and trini0's cases, the other was there to help out in time of need. It is gratifying to know that there are riders like yourselves out there. Again, speedy recovery to the both of you and kudos for being each other's wingmen!
