Default there is a difference....

for any of you that have been following my topic under "am i being unreasonable", here is the latest GOOD news.
i have found that there IS a difference in dealerships. just called freedom cycle in grandview, mo. and they actually said i could bring it today. i couldn't do that, but have made an appointment for next week for the recall on my 2000 intruder lc. when i first told her that i had a problem with another dealer, she ask right off if it was donnell's motorcycle of independence, mo. that was the dealer, and apparently they have been doing what they did to me to other customers. actualy, i have bought from freedom also, but she didn't know that. as i stated previously, i'm about the same distance from both. it's just that freedom cycle is on a road i don't like to travel. we have an interstate intersection here in kansas city known as the devil's triangle and it's a mess most of the time traffic wise, and i have to go through it to get to freedom cycle, but will, and they'll have a customer from now on. later, bud

That is good to hear. Pass the word around so others will know where to go.

Good for you Bud!!......I was reading your other thread and was hoping things would end on a happier note after what you went through with the first dealer.

one other thing i forgot to mention about freedom, is that when i explained to her i was leaving town for a month, she said if i did have a crack in the tank they would have to order one and that would take a week or so, but that they would store the bike while i was gone and it would be ready when i returned. now that's above and beyond what i expected, although i don't know about leaving in a shop for a month. this is probably the largest honda/suzuki/kawasaki dealership around this area, and they have a great new facility. guess it would be o.k. my bike is always garaged and covered at my house. anybody ever store one at a dealership? thanks, bud

I paid for storage at a dealer. It was there from the 28th of Oct. to the 4 th of Feb. It was kept up high on top of roofed area of the sales room. The building has a 20 ft ceiling and some of the areas have 8 ft height ceilings.

They had 20/30 bikes under storage. But in busy times, bikes being serviced are left out side in the rain and brought in at night.

Just ask the service dept.

thanks blackie, i hadn't thought about them pushing it outside, and don't think they would, but that's something i'll definately have to find out. they have a huge facility, and i have been back in the service area and have seen lots of bikes over in an area at back, so i assumed that's where mine would be stored. they did say there would be no charge. later, bud

Of course if you can have them guarantee inside storage for a small fee then it might be well worth it. You could provide a bike cover to keep it covered when they are waiting for the tank and for when it is done.

That's the way service should be, glad it worked out for you.
