| I got a new helmet yesterday at the bike show in Minneapolis. I have been wanting to get a full face helmet that has the flip open feature, but held off becaus all of them seem to have plastic latches to hold them shut. At the show I came across a helmet made in Italy called the "Caberg Justissimo" that flips open and has metal latches to hold it shut, it also has a bult in sun visor, that flips down inside the clear visor. I thought it looked well made, so I bought one. I realize that it can never be as strong as a standard full face, but this looks like it may come close. The report that I found sounded good, but I was wondering if anyone had any first hand experience. http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motor...rg-justissimo/ |

| That sounds like a great helmet. I was also concerned about flip faced helmets flipping open on impact. I bought a Nolan N100E, in part, because a magazine test compared 10 helmets, and only the Nolan did not flip open due to impact tests. It does have plastic latches, so I am relying on the magazine test. Sorry, no link because I can't remember where I read it, but it was in 2004 or 2005. The Nolan is made in Italy too, is that a common place for helmet manufacture?

| Ahhhhhh , you went over to Minneapolis to buy something..... St Paul folks don't cross the river!. Course, I had to cause I worked over there for awhile, but then I got hired by Lawson and just coasted down from Mounds Park to downtown. |

| You dirty dog you. Just kidding. Online I ordered the Caberg Justissimo FX (The one with the graphics) on November 4, 2005 and it has been on back order ever since. The distributer for USA keeps pushing back the delivery dates to all their distributers because Caberg, Italy, was overwhelmed by the large US demand. I thought this was just a bunch of BS so I called around and everyone is saying the same thing. They were due in (again) on Feb. 4th. I am crossing my fingers. How is the fit? Do you have room in the chin area?? How does the dark visor look as far as distortion? |

As for the fit, they seem to run on the large side. Every other helmet I've ever bought has been a XL, this one I had to go with a large. The helmets to try on at the show were display models that had been on lots of different heads, and were already stretched out, if I had just had a brand new, never been out of the box helmet to try on, I might have gotten the XL. It seemed to just about fit, but I could tell by the way the others were stretched out, that within a few weeks, it would be loose. Nothing is more annoying than having the wind shake your helmet around on your head. Good luck with getting yours. I checked the web site for the people I got mine from www.armoredrider.com but all they show is the solid colors. Last edited by Louis; 02-07-2006 at 08:41 AM. | |

| Waaaaaa. Got an apologetic call this morning to correct a slight piece of mis-information. As I was told, all the Caberg helmets did arrive... almost. I was then informed that the Justissimo FX (Graphic) has been discontinued but back orders will be honored, meaning more waiting, at least until the end of march. The bright side... Chances are I will be the only one in my area to have this helmet and be in the last group to get one. Only solid colors will be available. I will just try to forget about it and be happy with what I have until then.
