Default please advise on good helmet and jacket

well i just got my first bike a 92 gs500e so now i need to buy a helmet and a jacket. there are so many out there i was wondering if you "pros" out there good tell me what to look for or what to stay away from. i m looking for a full face helmet but there are so many styles and features and brands i don t even know where to start. thanks for your time

My recent helmet choice was the Shoei RF 1000. Light weight, well vented, and good quality. But it will lighten your wallet by around $300.00.
Heres some info for you on helmets. Buy the best that you can afford.

Different helmets are good for different people,it depends on the shape of your head.A good helmet is one that fits properly,so go to your local store and try a few different ones on.It shouldn't have any tight spots,but should be snug,and if you try to pull it side to side it shouldn't move too far.

I got a full face SHOEI not just because its a good hat, but I could slip my glasses on easily.(some I couldn't)

You may want to have a look at the HJC SY-MAX. It is a flip front helmet, so you can either flip up the mask or the whole front.

Handy for grabbing a bite or a smoke.

Check out tonker.com for pricing. I paid $219
