| Hey Everyone, Just for your information, I emailed Scorpion about the apparent failure of the exo700 in both penetration and impact tests, something troubling since I have one and I know a few of us and perhaps even more have that helmet: http://motorcyclecruiser.com/newsandupdates/dot05/ Today I got this response: Sir, We have been in contact with the NHTSA about this and what they have told us is that this test failure is not considered a defect so will not be ordering a recall. This test is down at low temperature meaning the freezing mark or below, we have confidence in this helmet and re-testing at 3 independent labs show the helmet passing. The DOT/NHSTA have agreed to re-test the helmet in FY06 to confirm or discredit their finding. This excerpt is from the person who we contacted at the office of NHSTA, “we have closed the investigation on the EXO-700. As the close out letter we sent you states, we plan to test this helmet again during the FY06 program. You may wish to provide a copy of our letter to your customers or suggest they contact me and I can explain that our investigation is closed and we plan to test the helmet during the FY06 test program.” Claudia Covell National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Office of Vehicle Safety Compliance 400 Seventh Street SW Washington, DC 20590 Claudia.Covell@nhtsa.dot.gov Phone: (202) 366-5293 Fax: (202) 366-7097 We hope this helps ease your concern about the safety of the EXO-700 series helmet. Thank you Glen West Scorpion Sports Inc.

| I have a Scorpion Exo 700 too. At least they're willing to take your concern seriously and have the helmet retested for proper safety. Most companies would either blow you off and not respond or respond with some BS answer.
