Default Hello all! Nother Noob

Hi everyone. An existing member recommended you guys a few days ago. Recently started posting on another forum, but felt this site was more specific to my bike. Did a little browsing, and am impressed with all the info and threads specific to metric cruizers. Bought a blue '06 M50 in October and am lovin' it. No mods as of yet. Been considering either debaffling or exhaust system, but will address these in their proper place. I will say this, some fantastic mods done in the M50 section. You really opened up a can of worms in MY head Cheers all! Lookin' forward to get to know you all better...Atlas

Hi Louis. Look west my friend... Out here on the coast in B.C, Vancouver. Pissn' down rain as we speak. I don't mind riding in the rain so much , but this is bit crazy. Thought I saw Noah 'bout half hour ago rustling up the last of the herd...my bike stays indoors today!

Well, better rain than snow! We have a good foot of snow in the Capital (some has melted as we received more than that) this is exluding of course the shoveled part...

I hear ya... We've only got a dusting of snow this year which lasted a couple of days. I'm looking at it from the other end, I'm waiting for it to arrive! Our household loves to snowboard an it ain't happening. Even Whistler is just starting to pick up. On the other hand, have gotten out on the bike a couple of times this past week for a few hours each. Am lovin' that!

Thanks for the warm and fuzzies everyone Appreciate it.
Hi Bob, who else make up the motley crew of the GVRD. I actually live in Surrey as well. But having lived in Florida in my late teens, I quickly realized that the came on when I referred to Vancouver. Any mention of the burbs just drew blank stares. Thanks for posting neighbour...

Tommy Boulevard is in Surrey also, in fact just a few blocks fom me,
Mikemc is new and over in Port Moody. A GSXR rider in Langley.

My bike is in storage at Langley Holeshot, until end Feb.
Mike e-mailed me last night, we are going to get to-gether for ride later when I am back on the road.
Are you interested, maybe find a few more riders.

Hi Atlas,

Welcome.

As for the mods to your M50 ... I would think long and hard before drilling out the stock exhausts. Screwing with the stock pipes while your bike is still under warranty isn't recommended. If you need to take the bike in for a warranty repair, the dealer can refuse to honor your warranty. If you want a better sound and more performance, go with an after-market slip-on, and keep the stock pipes on a shelf until your warranty has expired. It could save you lots of headaches later.

Sounds good Bob... Langley Holeshot, know them well. Good people. Almost bought my bike from them. However, they couldn't meet my price and didn't have the bike I wanted in stock. The place I bought from played it smart and ordered all 3 2006 models in mid 2005. They had the goods...They got my dough...

Holeshot was not where I bought my bike. I bought it in Abbotsford at
Gateway Motorsports. I had been to most dealers including Orcabay, but as it was prime season most were not willing to budge on MFS price plus prep and frgt. Also only Orcaybay had the stock.
I got an SE for $9,500 plus tax only, plus I got $5,000 off for my Wing which reduced the taxes also. I was happy as I paid $5,000 for the Wing 11 years before.
I switched to Holeshot for servicing as the crew led by Mike are the best I have found on the lower mainland.
