Default Great Day for a Ride

leaving this morning for a lunch ride -- just a wee bit foggy out -- in the high 40's -- will head up into the foothills for a little twisty time --

I was out yesterday ... we're having the best October on record. It has been sunny and warm (low 70s) for about a week now. Just about everyone who owns a bike is out this weekend, especially those in Germany with season license-plates (their bikes are only registered for street use until tomorrow).

I'm hoping that the weather clears up this afternoon (same weather as Rampage...). I would like a little bit more leisure riding time before the work week starts again. I can still ride a bit during the week, but not nearly as much...

I even got out. Thick clouds kept it warm (50's) and the wind died in the afternoon. I just had to get a speed fix.

Got out here, too. Was supposed to meet with a friend at noon, but he blew me off. Oh well, rode alone for a few hours.
In the 60's and sunny all day.

My wife and I did a Toy Run today, around 140 miles round trip. It was great, clear skies and upper 60's. We had over 1000 bikes at $10.00 or an unopened toy per person, a lot of 2-up bikes. Should make a lot of kids happy this Christmas.

Awesome day to ride! Temps in the mid 60s. Fall colors. Lots of other bikers.

Appalachian Harley on Rt. 11 was having some big to-do. We stopped there to check out all the visiting bikes. Saw some Yamaha's and a few Hondas...no Zuki's though (except mine).

Anyway, I am toasting the weather gods right now...*gulp*.

It's been great, I got out yesterday morning for a 150 miles through the country break in trip for the new seat, and today Angie and I got out for a 200 some mile loop this afternoon out east to the mountains and back toward home through horse farm country. It was getting a little cool at the end, but there were a lot of bikes out today. Ky. 77 north from Natural Bridge is a really cool ride, super twisty and through the very cool Nada tunnel. Nada Tunnel Link

The weather forecast is for warmer temps, so things look good here!

Yes, and the result was 4 dead bikers over here. I was on the road where this accident took place about 2 hours before it happened. If I had been there two hours later, one of these

Saturday in the Black Forest: A 75-year-old lady went into the opposing traffic lane to pass another car, but for some reason didn't return to her lane and instead continued on the wrong side of the street. In a light curve, she plowed into a line of bikers. A 56-year-old biker and his 54-year-old wife riding 2-up were killed at the scene. A 31-year-old woman biker was also killed, as was the 75-year-old driver of the VW Golf. A 26-year-old biker died later at the hospital. Two other bikers and the passenger in the car were seriously injured in the crash.

If you can understand German, here's the article:

Quote:
