Hello. I don't have a bike yet but have been researching them for some time now. I think the C50 may be the one for me, although I am going to discipline myself to wait until Spring to make a purchase. Before doing that I'll have the MSC under my belt. Anyway, the purpose of my post follows: It's probably a mid-life crisis, but early next summer I am going to buy a motorcycle, get rid of most of my possessions, and then head off to tour the U.S. When winter comes I expect to be in Arizona somewhere, perhaps Tucson. Right now I'm in Michigan, in Metro Detroit. Unfortunately, my proximity to Detroit makes insurance rates high. But this is where I am and so this is where I must get insurance, at least initially. Thing is, it will be easy to obtain insurance with my present address, but what do I do when I move? The companies want to know my residence, but when I give up my lease my home will be the road, for the indeterminate future. I don't have family in the area so putting their address down as mine isn't an option; besides, I wouldn't feel comfortable with that. Would getting a P.O. Box be an option? Do the insurance companies accept a P.O. Box as a valid address? Could I get the insurance while I am in my apartment, and then send in a change of address using the P.O? I would appreciate some feedback about this. |
