Have been reading this forum for a while and thought I would sign up and say hi. I started riding about a month ago on a '04 Katana 600. Took the MSF and have just started really riding around daily (I commute around town). Learning new things everyday and really enjoying the ride. This forum has already really been a great place to learn (I have spent hours reading through even before I took the MSF) and it is great to really learn from some experienced riders. I am enjoying the Katana although she is pretty heavy and cornering can sometimes be tricky especially to a beginner. She isn't that fast but plenty fast for me at this point - I have no intention of becoming a quarter-mile stretch of teeth and metal at this point. I suppose a good first question is in order. The guy that had the bike before more (I got it used on ebay) dropped it and cracked the rear shifter-side fairing. I worry that that crack(s) will spread. Any tips on sealing those? I was thinking either bondo on the inside of the fairing or fibering it shut and just putting a little white paint where the seal was made. Thoughts? At any rate - glad to be around and look forward to learning and posting as I go. - J |
