Default Big scare last nite....

I was riding on my way home from my mom's, about 9pm last night; it was a little chilly so I was more than happy to wear my gear. As I passed the two "S" turns about four miles out, I just had microseconds to notice something at eye level. Then I heard a loud thud on my helmet. I had hit a low hanging tree branch. Thankfully I hit it with a glancing blow and it was just high enough to miss my faceshield by about a half an inch. I could only imagine what could have happened if Joe Squiddlly had it the same branch without a lid on.......

I used to think that riding around corn and wheat fields was dull, lacking excitement. This incident has given me a much greater appreciation for what riding in Kansas has to offer.

Thank goodness you're okay. Good thing you wore your gear.
