Default THOSE "MOMENTS" OR MISSED CHANCES

I posted this in another forum and thought I'd bring it up here as well...

There are those moments when you're on the road, either touring or during the daily commute, when being on a motorcycle gives you those moments with others.

Whether it's a guy admiring your bike and giving you a thumbs up or a wave or a gaze in the eyes of a beautiful woman (for us guys).

I'm talking about those "moments" (particularly with a member of the opposite sex) that occur that would not have happened had you not been on your bike.

I think motorcycling and 'sickles in general represent a sense of adventure; possibly an element of danger and a sense of spirit or freedom.

When a person sees someone on their bike, having fun and being natural (vice posing) I feel it paints the rider in a different light and will make them more interesting and attractive to a certain percentage of people.

What are some of you're special moments?

I'll retell an account of an incident that I've already posted in another forum. Here goes:

Missed opportunity - about five years ago.

During a long distance cross-country ride I took a 6 hour ferry crossing. I booked a bunk style bed in a common room with a bunch of other bunks.

By the time I got to my bunk to turn in, everyone else was already in bed sleeping.

When I woke up in the morning I sat on the edge of my bunk pulling on my riding gear (we were docking in 30 mins or so).

A gorgeous blonde sat up in the bunk across from me. Her hair was messed up and she stretched and rubbed her eyes. She then noticed me sitting on my bed.

She looked interested, started watching me pulling on my riding gear and gave me a killer smile. First thing in the morning, no makeup and she was drop-dead Special Forces HOT!

I gave her a smile back, grabbed my jacket, lid and tank bag and headed out - and have kicked myself daily ever since for not striking up a conversation.

What an idiot!!! We had shared one of those "moments" and I just strolled away - too tongue-tied to say anything.

So, anyone have any interesting tales to tell???
