I use it.....had a (no choice) chance to test it last month also.....I got caught in a massive down pour and I thought it worked real well. There's maybe better out there but this is what I use and I don't notice any ill effects to my visor either.

RainX can yellow shields and visor's over time. I've had it do so to a shield before and I've heard others complain of the same.

Plexus is a great product for both if you find it at your dealer. Buggy's just wipe right off after application

THANKS dragbar!

Unless you are using Rain-X made specifically for plexiglass, you shouldn't use it on your windscreen. Plexus is a cleaner / polish.

Yes the Plexus is a cleaner / Polish, but just so everyone knows, it does bead well during rain. I know cause I road for about 110 miles in rain Sunday night..hehe.

What a timely topic. I've got prints all over my visor and I've been wondering about getting something to keep it clear.

Thanks!

It also helps keep the bugs from sticking so bad.

I first discovered Rain-X 20-something years ago when my step-father and I were racing F-prod in SCCA. Been sold on the stuff ever since. BUT, it does say quite clearly on the label that its not for plastics - hence the yellowing of visors.

When we were racing, and on other shields ever since, I've always found myself replacing the shield before the yellowing became a problem - scratches and whatnot. Sooo... your call, amigo.

Yeah, I've heard that Rain-X does yellow visors... I use it on my truck windshield only.

As far as cleaning my visor, I use rubbing alcohol. I think it works perfectly, as long as you dry it before it air-dries and leaves spots.

I saw somewhere, someone recommend Rain-x marine version, available at marine stores. Has anyone seen it. Plexus is hard to find here and pricey.
My shop was out, after the 3rd time I looked at other shops, they did not have. When I got it after 3 weeks the small can cost $12.99, $3 more than I paid for the large can several months before.
Surely there is something more reasonable.
