| If you have not street riding experience, neither bike is a good choice. Both are obscenely powerful, more than most beginners can handle. As for mileage, most bikes get 40MPG or more, so it depends on the tank size. That information should be readily available.

| In Training ![]() | GSX-R 1000? You are very brave. That bike has more horsepower than a good chunk of cars. IMHO, i think a GSX-R as a first bike is a bad decision. I wanted a GSX-R 600 as a first bike, then i relized (much to the help of this forum |

| Forensic Bug Splatter Analyst. ![]() | I've got a gixxer 1000 and I must agree it is a poor choice for a first bike. So is the 750 and the 600. I've been riding over 30 years, and mine still scares me at times. Those times are usually when I lose focus or make a stupid mistake, like misreading a corner on an unfamiliar piece of asphalt. Get a forgiving bike to start with, get some miles in and then up grade. Starting on a Gixxer will either, scare you away from riding, put you into the asphalt, the hospital or even the morgue. Some riders get away with Gixxers as first bikes. The majority do not. In any case, think hard about your ability to control a near full race bike with minimal experience. Take the MSF class.

| Hello Buddy... GSXR's are as far as I know are the market dominators... I have just bought my first bike and it is 04 GSXR-600. It is great in every way. Some people said it would be too much for begginners but, I am doing great on it... I suggest you should have your own 600 before advance to 750 or higher... The new ones are as fast as you need them to be and at the same time not scary powerful... You would not have fun on 750's or 1000's for a long time.... I was very stupid, I wanted to get a Busa for my first bike, But I listened lots of experienced rider friends here in suzuki-bikes.com, now I am on my GSXR 600 and I am so thankful to them and I am enjoying every single minute of it.... After all, it is upto you..... Bikes are loaded guns, depends how dangerous you wanna play.. Just ride safe buddy... Would like to see you one day on the road and wave at you.. Regards NomadTurk

| One thing that helps is to reduce one post or the other to a single period with the 'edit' button. That way we don't start reading the double every time. You could also have placed your apology in one of them to prevent posting a third consecutive time.
