| Hey all, I'm hoping someone may have some ideas for my problem. I have a 2002 Shadow ACE with about 6600 miles on it. I did a sprocket change to extend the gearing a little (which seems to be a standard thing!) and for about 2 months it ran great. It extended the gears out to where I was hitting 5th around 55-60 and the vibrations started at about 70-75. Perfect! OK, now fast forward to about a month ago. The bike started to run rough again and I'm back to shifting into 5th around 45. When I hit 62 (yes, it's that specific!!) the vibrations kick in so bad I think I'm gonna lose my fillings! I've changed the oil and the spark plugs and went for a ride last night and it was still doing it. Any ideas what it might be? Could it be a carb issue? I'm not motorcycle mechanic inclined so any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks all! |

I'd suggest a dose of carb. cleaner in one tank of gas and if that don't fix (or substantially help) the problem, then you need professional help.

| Thanks. I figured I'd need to see a mechanic, but you know how that goes..."it'll cost $100 for me to look at it", then they won't find anything.... I figured I'd try the home fix first. Hoping people may be able to narrow down where to look. I appreciate the input. |
