Default What do you think?

I found a 1998 Honda Shadow 750 for sale. It has 32,000 miles on it, cobra pipes, great condition. The seller is asking $3,200.00 for it and that price sounds high to me. What kind of mileage can I expect to get out of it? Is this price too high or is it in the ballpark? Thanks for any help.

Too high. A guy right down my road that runs a mini used car dealership out of is yard has an immaculate 2005 Shadow 750 with 4,000 miles, pipes, bags, mirrors, etc., and asking $3500 or $3200 cash. I would think maybe $2500 tops for a 10 year old Shadow 750.

I think it's too high also. Aren't they under 7K new?

Kelly Blue Book lists it at about $3260. I'm letting you know that so if you get it you won't feel cheated. But current market value, with supply and demand, would dictate a lower price.

However, if you shop around, I'm certain you could find a 2002-2005 model with less miles for around that price. Or find a left over new '07 that some dealerships have. They'll give discounts and incentives. You might be able to drop $3200 on a new bike and finance another $2,500 and have maybe a new '07 Shadow, M50 or C50. Just a thought.

Thanks for everyone's replies, I appreciate it. If I am able to get him to drop it to a price I think is fair and I am willing to spend, should I be worried about the 30,000 miles that the bike has? Is this a a lot for a bike, or will it go for another 30,000 without problems?

Hondas have a good rep for running for years and years, mile after mile. The only thing you should be worried about is if the maintenance has been done regularly. If the bike has been taken care of you shouldn't have a problem.
