having a clean workbench is important so that small parts that might be vital to performance do not get forgotten.

I was thinking along the lines of washer, jet, screw or a needle circlip. I actually forgot to put one of those in once a loooong time ago. Never made that mistake again!

You probably weren't on/off the gas REAL hard. The vacuum will pull the slide up. Getting it back down is the part that isn't so easy. You dont want that sticking when at higher RPMs

i went to work a couple of times. and i do 70 mph.

if anything i did ride it harder than normal due to nerves caused by the other issue i had with that one jerk.

I found a part sitting on my boat seat last month. Appears to be a sleeve-type alignment guide that goes in the weedeater shaft. That would explain the whining noise it makes this year.

Maybe I'll put it back in.
