Default Wish me luck.........

After several people who were 'just looking' and some that 'just wanted to see what it looked like'. . . . . I had my first serious buyer today.

It rained for most of the day and pollen has been covering everything as if it were snow. I got the GSX-R out for a bit and brought her home in the rain. As I'm putting the cover over my baby, my phone rings. It is an Air Force Pharmacist who wants to take a look at the GS. I thought, "Great now I get to clean up the GS in the rain and put on the dog and pony show for another guy who thinks he really needs a Hayabusa."

I was wrong. This young man was told by his buddy to start small and work your way up. "This will be his first bike." His friend told me while we waited for the potential buyer to arrive. "I've got an R6 but I think it is way too much for a new rider." Finally! Someone with a true friend. This guy recommended all the bikes that we normally recommend to his buddy. The guy I chatted with didn't seem very knowledgeable about motorcycles but did seem to know a thing or two about being a new rider.

The potential buyer finally arrived and asked the typical buyer/seller questions. I answered every question honestly and seemed to have his attention. Finally he asked if he could sit on it. It reminded me of the first time I sat on my friends Katana. His eyes brightened a little and he had this weird uncontrollable grin. I think he was imagining the sun to his back and wind in his face. The fresh smell of Alabama pines and the cool breeze of a spring morning. He just sat there and stared off into space. Finally his friend broke the silence and said that they had a few other bikes they were looking at but would call me on Sunday.

He got off the bike and confirmed what his friend with the R6 had just said. He told me he was definitely interested and would probably be bringing cash.
(Which is never a problem )

So, I've got my fingers crossed and hopefully I'll come back from Military Drill this weekend with a message on my phone about the guy wanting to come pick it up.

Wish me luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
