now he's drinking in bears; talk about your upscale drinker.

Things get bad enough, make your own wine.

I make it from apples; and here in wisconsin, apples are like oranges in FL. You couldn't export them all if you tried.

Beer already went up 2.00 a case here. Diesel is 3.66, selling the ashes for more than the cordwood.

I could post how to make your own wine on the back of a napkin; it aint' rocket science.

Which is why I couldn't quite understand home made beer. You do this, you do that, you do the other thing.

What do you have when you are finished? 3 cases of beer. With the crew ( at least 3 - 4 guys to do all this work to make it) that won't go far.

Wine;

apples, sugar, yeast.

Blender, bucket, time.

described the ingredients and items required to make wine.

I'm not looking forward to it, but this summer in CA gas prices are supposed to be above $4.00 per gallon.

Some idiot in my office is trying to promote a Car Road Rally at the end of this month.

I guess its just for rich people with no regard for the environment.

Well listening to the "SO-CALLED" experts and annalysts they are predicting a price of around $3.80 to $4.50 a gallon this summer.

Of course this is if we don't have some sort of unpredicted upset come along such as any Hurricane, any kind of conflict in the Middle East, Shiek AmAdumbBadarse wakes up drunk, or the sun rises one morning. Any of this could cause it to rise even higher.

Now why are we not drilling in these protected areas again?

Yes, once all the kinks are worked out of them. The way things are going now, I think GM is going to be the first one to make a hybrid that gets good gas mileage both on the highway and in the city. (right now hybrids only get about 35 mpg on the highway)

no, it's not today, but it's getting there.

Battery technology needs to make another hop in storage capacity as well as ability to recharge as well as improve environmentally.

So, actually 3 changes need to happen to the core technology.

and then there's just putting more batteries in the car so it can go further on electricity w/out starting the engine.

as well as a solar panel on the roof, which with today's technology is not so far fetched anymore.

depending on how you want to play that game, it may be a lot closer than you think.

I read something the other day where they had either a hybrid or I think it was an electric car and as long as your round trip was under 60 miles, it could run the whole way on batteries.

The argument was, cost of electricity vs the cost of gas and theoretically (now at least) could say you were getting over 100 mpg.
