Same for the interior of the province right now. However reports state we'll hit $1.50 this summer...in 'mericun that should be around $5.78/gal.

I felt bad until I saw Buster's prices. I've heard the UK was through the roof...it's almost like they're on an island or something.

$1.09 per liter here but get .11 a liter for Superbucks. I wonder what Toronto is paying?

I would imagine it's pushing close to $7 per gallon in Europe now, due to the weak dollar.

I paid $2.99 this week, not sure what it is today.

BTW, our all knowing legislators think it is imperative that we pay more for gas so they passed a gas tax this week I believe around .09 that will take effect in two stages.

Almost forgot that the next step is for our lawmakers to require all MN residents to bend over and take one in the asinine

Gas Prices???

How many of you that travel the same road to and from work look for the cheapest fuel prices?

Are do you just stop along the way at a station that is convenience to stop in not looking at their fuel prices???

Me I fuel price shop, I have five {5} stations to pass on my way to and from work.

It doesn't pay to look anymore. I have finally given in to the fact that I'm the oil company's biotch.

While we have it bad think about this.
The race fuel that most the motorcycle racers use MR9 is up to $22.93 a gallon.

Rising gas prices is bad enough but what riles me up is that normally in the past when these prices start to finally stop going up they level off at the "new" gas price standard and leave you sitting there for a while..

I remember one year the gas price soared and was steadily going up. People started to gripe and riot.. (well maybe not riot) so the prices stopped going up only to level off at the new price which was still entirely too high.. but we adjusted to it.

Now we are pushing the 4.00/per gal and I bet the new price will level out around 3.50/per gal now.

I used to blame the oil companies/ OPEC/ and the like, but isn't it true that it really is the big money people buying and selling oil on the stock market that is the real reason for the price increases?? One of them wanted to be the very first to pay $100.00 per barrel, so he bid it up. Then sold it at a loss just so he could be the first for bragging rights. It REALLY grips me when these guys play games with money and drive our prices up. Big money and politics as usual I guess. The little people will pay the bills.

While you correct that markets control the price of oil and not the oil companies, I reserve the right to act like a ten year old and blame the guy with all the money in his hand.

These are the dudes setting the oil prices:
nymex (new york mercantile exchange),IPE (International Petroleum Exchange in London) ,simex (Singapore International Monetary Exchange)

Honestly, I think it is unfair to blame the oil co's for their profits. We buy the gas and they take a small cut from each gallon we buy. What company does not do this? Who is making the most profit on gas sales? Hmmm, lets see.

The Tax Foundation - State and Federal Treasuries "Profit" More from Gasoline Sales than U.S. Oil Industry

Oil Profits from 1977 to 2004******Fed & State taxes from 1977 to 2004
********$643 *********************** $1,343.1************

Thats in billions of $'s folks.

Uuuhhh, me thinks the gubment takes more than double what the oil co's do, at least that is what the figures say. And what does the gubment do with these profits? Gives grants to institutions to study what a frisbee flys or preforms a media spin telling us how bad those capitalist oil companies are and how they are ripping us off with full knowledge that they (the gubment) is raking us over the coals. And at the same time puts blocks up to severely minimize new exploration, building new refineries leaving us with no choice but to buy foreign oil from such totalitarian dictators like Hugo Chavez. Yeah, good idea lets finance a ruthless dictator!!

WalMart has made huge profits from selling us cheap Chinese crap. And why do they have big profits? We buy their crap. No sales, no profit.

It all comes down to supply and demand. Today we have new oil hungry consumers, China and India. Demand increases (China and India are outpacing the US demand for oil), supply decreases and the price goes up. Econ 101.

It is pretty simple to offset your personal cost of oil. BUY OIL STOCKS!! Especially Canadian oil trusts, very good dividends, I average 12%/yr on div. alone.

Class dismissed, it's 3 hours to Miller time!!
