I've only been riding since October, but I'm beginning to feel comfortable in almost all aspects of motorcycling. There's just one thing that I really fear: having my bike stolen. The darn thing only weighs about 470 pounds; I'm concerned that if I go anywhere for a while (like to see a 2 hour movie) that the bike will be gone when I come back. I'm REALLY concerned about going on a trip and waking up to see my bike gone from some motel when I'm 500 miles away from home. I work in the auto insurance business as a claims adjuster. It's rare, but I occasionally see claims for stolen bikes. I just handled a claim for a stolen Honda sportbike. It was parked outside the owner's apartment in Austin, Texas and someone just walked off with it. Is anyone else worried about this? Are there any anti-theft devices for bikes? |
