I just recently had some success locating a VIC 20 text-based game I played as a kid. I was always pissed because I got the whole way through the thing but couldn't get the last clue. I think this is it, but I haven't had time to get into it yet.

I got my laptop from Best Buy, and usually I do not have problems with them. The clerk told me since I was buying from Best Buy that they will send in my information and I would not have to do anything. Well Windows 7 came out, and no disc. I went up there and was told I had to submit the information myself, or they can upgrade me for $40. It has been 2 weeks and HP still has not even processed my order.

Scott Adams "Adventure" or "Adventureland" is a classic! I used to play that on the VAX in college!

Waited until '95 and actually liked it. I think I'll like Windows 7.

I assume you mean a label printer, because you can print barcodes with ANY printer. I wrote software to print barcodes on an HP LaserJet 4 back in 1990.
you are correct, sir, the label printer - about 16 labels a minute.

and it uses this special stuff - a role of labels, and a role of film that the printer must burn in with a laser(? I think)

all I know is label printers run 2k and you get precious damn little for that money.

maybe I need to start a side business.

A quick Google shows that you can pick up a TEC B SX4T label printer for about $1200 ...

it says print speed up to "600 inches / minute" so apparently they don't want you to know that's 50 feet.

which, in my world means it will print about 25 feet in application.

still better than what we got - and that dang thermal imaging media ain't cheap either.

That explains all my ailments over the last 10 years. However.....

I am now going to be responsable for our Mac support so I was given a Mac Mini to play with, seems like every time I turn the thing on it has to download updates, quite annoying.
