The rivers & oceans in these parts of the world are literal garbage dumps beyond your wildest imagination. Have you guys heard about the north Pacific Gyre? I saw a show on this not too long ago. Its true. It's a Texas state sized floating garbage pile of plastic human junk sometimes 30' deep floating out in the middle of the ocean. What I can't understand is why the worlds nations don't go and at least attemp to clean it up. If they can dredge the ocean bottom and scoop up every life form imaginable to supply us with fish at Red Lobster than we should be able to scoop up all that waste floating around. For a person such as myself that loves the outdoors along with the unspoiled natural beauty of this Earth it disgusts me to see it so mismanaged, abused and destroyed. |
