Just a question... I live in a tiny town and my wife works nights on weekends and a little during the week at the Chevron at the intersection in the next town. We have a National Guard Base in town and alot of military guys live nearby... just in my little 4-home apartment complex, theres me (a Marine), a National Guard guy, and a retired Navy guy. It seems that every night she works, there is an abundance of military guys in uniform stopping in (some out, but wearing patriotic clothes) and hitting on her... I didn't believe her at first.. so tonite when I went in to bring her Burger King (she's pregnant, ok..) I witnessed it first hand. I pulled up on my bike and went in only to see a National Guard guy, an E-2 to be exact, buying gas and getting a can of Skoal.... he was all smiles. He kept hitting on her rather hard... it was pretty funny. She just smiled and kept on, and he insisted on leaving her a 10 dollar tip... so not to lead him on, she said she was married. Thinking he ran the world, he just smiled, cocked his head, and said... quote... direct quote.. "that don't matter none... He must not be much to make you work." ... I stood back and didn't say a word... as much as I wanted to hit him, I would never touch a brother in arms... She made her little smirk and without missing a beat... "My husband doesn't want me working here, especially at night with all the freaks out. I guess its in his nature as a Marine to be protective." He stowed the ten and turned around to see me with a high-n-tight, holding a bag of Burger King staring right at him. he looked at me for a sec and then got the weirdest expression as he realized exactly who I was.... I held out the bag to my wife and the guy about tripped over himself to get out the door. It was rather freaking hilarious. I think I'm going to have to hang out at the Chevron more often. My question is... is it just me, or do all Military members have a thing for red-heads? |
