Never been to Switzerland, huh? Here they write "high German" but the spoken dialect is completely different. Anyone from northern Germany is lost when they get here - they don't understand a word of what's being said, even though they all write the same thing on paper.
I thought we were talking English here . . . stay on (off?) topic!
LOL

No, we are "talking" American here. What the Brits are "talking" is English.

"talking" in quotes, because we are writing, not speaking (or haven't you noticed)

Hijacking it back to the original theme - take up a martial art. Train 2-3 times a week. You won't be bored. Trust me on this...

ok - a bit late on this, but...

Dude, you live in Asheville and can't find anything to do? If nothing else, take a walk - you live in one of the most beautiful places on earth!

This is different than the example I gave, though, and you are correct. In your sentence, you are acting upon you. In mine, someone else is, therefore you wouldn't use "myself".

Don't make me Google this for you. Ask Landry how that ends up.

Pug, I'm doing my best to cure your boredom. Wait, this is worse, isn't it?

I know its more of my mental state. With my mom / dad and their problems since they have been divored for almost 4 yrs now next April. A lot has went down and is always on-going everyday. Asheville is a nice place but I just get so bored so easily and I don't know the cure. Cause everything I think to do doesn't sound interesting nor do I want to do it alone if I did want to do it probably. The friends I do have from college, are still in college, and live an apartment; but all they do is play computer games all day (literally). I can't get them to do anything and I think the maturity level between us is just to great.

Umm . . . isn't the "I" understood in the example sentence? That would make my example match the sentence in question, almost verbatim.

So, it should be "[i] Got up this morning, made breakfast for my girlfriend and myself, . . .

. . . because you would never say "[i] Got up this morning, made breakfast for me . . .

Don't make me google it . . . You know how that went last time!

<you DID take english in one of the 50 states . . . right?!?>
