I'm confused... this is a song? Or is this the verbal thumpin' that you (refuse to admit you) do while doing the dishes, but are madly interruped by car alarms?

I can see clearly now the rain is gone
I can see all obstacles in my way.

Well you got me over the Clash thing, I suppose even I make SELECTIVE exceptions.

But an album of the likes of Bob Marley can induce in me, the same kind of homicidal rage as ... say ... Paul Oakenfold, or Sash! (or any of this new 'car alarm' crap!)

November Rain - GNR

I've been able to listen a wider variety of music as I got older, but that song still strikes me as musical self masturbation.

lots,

but it has to be more upbeat than the old days.

david allen coe comes to mind - country music's answer to Alice Cooper.

"you never even called me by my name."

have you ever noticed that he is STILL ALIVE after all he has been through?

really, he is damn near the age at which Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and countless others (of that genre) have either passed on or didn't even make it that far.
