It's official: the red flag is going up.

I won't do it! If I remember right there were a few posts in there where you and womper were trying to get me to click on some annoying video -- but you'd change the link name to say something else.

I'm on to you.

Road Rage by Catatonia

It's annoyingly repetitive........

All Summer Long by Kidrock is the most annoying song I've ever heard!

That 'I get knocked down' song from the early 90s.

I will say anything country, Celine Deon, Kenny G, or the Bee-gees.

I think you are mistaking Womper and myself for someone else. We are both way too kind and easy going to try and mislead anyone. I would never mislabel a link just to to try and lure you in....

Any song that contains sampling from other songs is on my list. That to me indicates a complete lack of talent and creativity.

Have you ever heard the Grey Album from DJ Danger Mouse? My favorite mashup of all time. The Beatles White Album and Jay Z's Black album mixed into one.

No...I like a little bit of everything from the 30's on up. I think I'm getting older. I don't recall any blatant sampling prior to the mid to late 80's. There was some brilliant stuff in the 60's and 70's. And more cross-generational variety and appeal in the music then.

Today, most music (the popular stuff on the radio) is watered down, dumbed down and made by people whose fame is manufactured by a few suits in the industry that want you to hear what they think will bring in the most money in the shortest amount of time. Musical talent has nothing to do with it. It's all about image.

Don't get me wrong, there's some good stuff out there but you won't hear it on the radio. The Spectrum on Sirius is a pretty decent outlet for modern music that isn't dependent on the American Idol or Disney flavor of the month.

Just my .02 centavos.

ah yes, the offspring.

and people wonder why I have not inclination to put a radio on my bike.

the hum of the engine is as good as the music is going to get.

as mentioned earlier "anything by Mariah Carey."

I have heard so much more annoying music that Mariah's music just doesn't budge the needle anymore.

Back when I was growing up in the 80's the playlist went like this

1) led zeppelin (about 10 songs, the same 10 over and over)
2) pink floyd (about 10 songs too "dark side of the moon" "wish you were here" "shine on you crazy diamond")
3) Boston (4 songs)
4) whomever was popular that week.

This would constitute 3/4 of the playlist on the rock and roll music stations.

Still don't have much a tolerance for any of those three bands.

I listen to very little radio nowadays. But let's face it, if you listen to any rock, most of it can be traced back to some blues riff...

Oh most definitely.

The stuff (sampling) that annoys me is when they lift the original snipet of the song. They don't even try to play it themselves or re-work it at all.

Ring back tunes. I might be old fashion, but when I call someone I want to hear a ring.
