One of my friends just bought a new Road King today.Man what a beautiful bike ,I would love to have one ,but my finances keep it out of my reach for now.Maybe I'll win the lottery one day, that will be my first purchase.

So get another sales person?????? Why let one person ruin what you want?

I sure as hell wouldn't. Is that the only dealer in your area?

Nothing wrong with a Harley Davidson it's a great machine, if it wouldn't be they wouldn't sell like they do. Yes,,, IMO there is one thing wrong with a HD, they're over priced.

Yeah if the salesman was a tool...go some where else. i went out to the boondocks to get my Vic.
The local salesmans jerked me around on the price giving me attitude about If i bought some where else they wouldn't service it.
After a brief talk with his manager and the regional Vic rep. that issue was taken care of. He also lost the sale and I saved 4K.

then it's time to look at the other american bike; Victory.

and explain to the insurance lady that "hammer" or "eight ball" are just model names and don't mean anything that would cause excessive concern.

Did you notice that you often see the H-D logo surrounded by flames? There must be a reason for that ...

Did you not test ride the bike at the dealer? If not, why would you consider getting an expensive bike you have not even riden yet? Just wondering.

I'm getting the feeling from reading your posts that you don't know what you want....

Another thing...you can't compare the Jap bikes to the H-D's, there is none. They are so different in so many ways. And yes I know because I have had both. The softail is one of the most comfortable bikes out there. I have ridden Pete's Hammer and OMG it hurts!
