|  Not the worst day at work
So, a few weeks ago I started working for a company that does wireless video for broadcast. Technically, I'm 1/2 of the sales and all of the marketing department, however, today I got a chance to get out there in the shop and get my hand dirty with the techs. We're wiring the chase bikes up for the LA Marathon. Some of the bikes will carry the camera operator, and we'll send the video up to the helicopter, back to a receive site, then fiber it back to the broadcast truck. Other bikes will have GPS transponders, and they stay with the lead male, female, etc. Then, they can broadcast the exact position on a graphic map overlay, showing where the leaders are. So far, we've wired a Triumph, a Valkarie, a Honda 650 Dual Sport and a Goldwing, all with sidecars. Sure beats sitting at my desk writing the website verbiage! I have pix of the triumph that I'll post soon. |
