HG Wells The Time Machine.
Are we limited to movies or can we list all the Outer Limits shows that deal with it?

i'd say movies only

wot about the matrix? heh.
ok... some of my totally favorites:
Deathrace 2000 (remakes suck)
Defcon 4
Akira
Judge Dredd

Red Dawn (should it be in this category?)
Escape from new york (i heard a remake is on it's way)

tank girl (i liked it)
spacehunter: adventures in the forbidden zone (first 3d movie i saw in theatres)
Night of the comet (still love it)
robot jox (GIANT ROBOTS!)
and almost every zombie cheese movie (dawn of the dead, day of the dead, night of the living dead, etc)

the most chilling movie though...

The day after. i saw this as a kid and it scared the crap out of me... i think it was a made for tv movie...

Back in the Eighties I'm sure it was out of the question because of the size. But now as you mentioned, three hour movies are kind of the norm any more so it could be completely doable.

Umm... Which two?
Escape from NY and I am Legend, since they are both based on Manhattan Island?
Omega Man and The Planet of the Apes; because they both have Charlton Heston as the leading role?
Does 12 Monkeys come into play somewhere too?

Or they could make the book into a trilogy, like the Lord of the Ring series. thanks

Omega Man and I am Legend, Ok technical you don't but you do… I am Legend is a remake of Omega Man.

On a personal note; I liked Legend but the ending pissed me off. Hey so get inside the hole with the only antidote. Oh looks like there is more room for me but naw I will just blow myself up….oh and if you drop that antidote well your screwed because the brainchild behind its discovery… well decided he was going to blow himself up. Come on are you jokeing.

Ok so you got me there. Lol I haven't seen Omega man in a while so that's my excuse. I guess I should watch it again, so I can see the relation of the 2.
I was looking forward to the new Terminator movie, but I fear it'll just be a disappointment.

If you'd said 28 days later you would have said the same movie 3 times.

Now that movie looks sick!
I try to stay out of the theaters because I hate paying those outrageous prices, but every once in a while there is an exception to my rule. This will be an exception.

By the way, Terminator 4 was great! In case anyone cared

Actually "I am legend "is the third film based on the book " I am legend" written by Richard Matheson. The first was "The last man on earth" filmed in 1964 starring Vincent Price, then came Omega man and lastly "I am legend" with Will Smith . The original movie is in the public domain and can be downloaded for free. I dled it when the will smith version came out so I could watch it. Same story but with 1964 special effects and in black and white.
