Well after 35yrs I've finally decided it's time to learn how to play guitar. So I went to Guitar Center in Atlanta a couple weekends ago and after holding and drooling over a autographed used Stevie Ray Vaughn going for $13,500.00 in the Platinum room I ended up walking out with a Schecter Electric Guitar and Line6 15watt 8" amp and all the other goodies you need to get started. I figured I'd better not go crazy and just get an entry level but decent guitar setup for my first go round. I love rock music, love electric guitar and I'd really like to try to teach myself to play. I know alot of good/famous guitar players never took lessons, they just put tons of time in and learned on their own. I've never played any instrument in my entire life so this is all new to me. I've just started to memorize some chords and get the "feel" for the guitar. Any words of wisdom out there for a new player???? Any good websites or books/cd's that you would recommend? |
