Still have all of those Strats, although I reverted the '79 Frankenstrat back to single coils to try and sell it. Not pictured are a '80 Capri Orange and a '69 Sunburst that I have. Played the '66 (third from left) Saturday night. That guitar was one of Brad Gillis' main recording axes for his production company.

Where's the Fender Bass from the first pic? Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that a "P" body with a Jazz kneck?

2 string power chords can make you sound like a rock god when your just startin out.power chords are your friends.
If your going to stick with it i'd grab a 30w amp min. Those 15w practice amps sound pretty tinny.good for now though.

Maybe I forgot to tell you that I've NEVER played before in my life. As in zip, nada, no can do!

I'm working on "Play like Slash in a week" power chords from some guitar mag. Problem is that I've been working on it for two weeks and I'm still on day Two.

I'm doing good the hold the guitar right, stretch my fingers to all the strings and play a few chords. But I'm not giving up or getting discouraged. I need to get some close guitar friends and start getting some one on one pointers on stuff.

Baby steps man baby steps.

Damn Nate...can't get any more baby stepped than that song...

A brain damaged chimp that abuses The Chronic on a daily basis could pick up a guitar and play that song.

It's just basically two string power chords. The only difference is you're holding your second finger down on more strings and strumming more strings to give more depth.

Try it. You'll like it. That song with that tab is easier than Iron Man fer Chrissakes.

Hey Roller............

I've been playing for three months now. Go to www.ultimateguitar/tabs.com, this site has both tabs and chords (i'm still learning how to read tabs also). So far I have learned several songs from start to finish just by looking at the chords and going to youtube and watching a video of someone else playing.

The neat thing about this website is you can click on a chord and it will show you how to place your fingers on the frets. Since Feb. I have bouth a Washburn D-100 Dreadnought, a Fender DG 100 Dreadnought, and a Yamaha APX500 acoustic/electric (Classical Size......smaller than a Dreadnought).

Give me a call when you get a chance...........I may be of help.

I'm rockin an Epi Les Paul standard in cherry sunburst through a Korg AX3000G pedal to a Marshall MG15CDR practice amp. I also mic the amp when I play live most of the time.
The acoustic is also a Washburn D100 which sounds very nice. I stick a soundhole pickup in it which isnt so great, so I'm saving my nickels for a Michael Kelly Visionary 55FCE.
My bass is a Dean Edge 4 string which a bass player friend says sounds better than her P-Bass. I don't hear it but hey.
The mando is also an Epi which has a nice pickup in the bridge.

The only thing I can tell you to do is to set yourself some practice time every day and keep on track. Also find what your limits are and what you're good at - personally I have trouble playing lead riffs so I stick mostly to rhythm - then push those limits.
