Kudo's to my favorite power forward of all time Brendan Shanahan. NJ picked him up and he scored a goal in his first game last night.

1,341 career points

He was a fan favorite for ten years in Detroit, he's a good guy, was on the competition committee to improve the NHL game, brought a physical aspect to the game & is a premier sniper.

Shanahan story - My buddy's wife was at a bar in Jasper and the Wings were in town for some R&R. Shanny starts to hit on buddy's wife and she shoots him down. She went home and told my buddy so he asks if she got his name. She told him Brendan Somethingorother. My friend pulls out his box of Wheaties and asks "This guy?" His wife says, without being impressed at all, "Yeah, that's the creep."

Well the Canucks showed up for 5 minutes of the 2 period.

4 shots in the first period. I can only assume they don't get paid enough!!!

What's going on with your Canucks? I'm sensing some frustration in Vancouver. Your fighting with 3 other teams for the 8th playoff spot now. The second half of the season is upon us, it's time for all the serious contenders to start picking up their game.

I'm just hoping the Thrashers don't end up last overall.

Really??? OUCH!

I took a look at your team roster. There's no reason why they shouldn't be one of the upper tier teams in the conference. You have the talent. That's what's always frustrating with anyteam (ie.....see the Dallas Cowboys). It's not a talent issue, it's usually a work ethic or not buying into a system thing.

They average 18 minutes per game in the box.

Nashville had not scored 3 power play goals in a game, the past 2 years till last night.
Sundin has been taking game losing penalities!!!

Sundin is probably not really in game shape yet. It's going to take him awhile. Alot of guys resort to hooking & obstruction when they're being out worked or there not in the right position and they do something stupid.

I watched a great US college hockey game last night. My #7 Michigan Wolverines upset #1 Notre Dame in South Bend 2-1. Great up & down action. Two very talented teams. I was impressed with Michigans speed & skill. Notre Dame is the best cycling down low college team I've ever seen.
