Luongo is out maybe 4-5 weeks...

But with Sanford in they pull it out in OT to beat the Wings..

Canucks lead the series 2-1 now..

I hope to see Cory Schneider get a shot at starting in goal. He's done well for the Moose so far.

Seems like Brian Burke should be the GM of the Leafs soon.

Is that what they offered him!? That's Nuckin Futs. Unless he gets them The Cup then I suppose it would be worth it, but I'd be surprised he he lasts past three years there.

Default Outshooting equals wins????

Detroit continues to outshoot the teams that they are facing but lately that hasn't equaled wins.

Outshoot Boston 30-19 Lose 4-1
Outshoot Montreal 33-25 Lose 3-1
Outshoot Anahiem 47-16 and find themselves in a tie game 1/2 way through the third period. Finally come away with a 2-1 win.

Our goaltending has been horrific lately and the other teams goalies seem to be standing on their head. You just got to continue to shoot the puck and hope your own goalies get their game going.

The Canucks have tanked. Sanford the back up goalie lasted 1 period, back trouble.

Could be a bad road trip.

I knew what this post was B4 I ever opened it. Yeah it's a classless thing to say, but suspend a guy over it???? Come on give me a break. Avery is a great agitator and a guy you hate to play against but I don't think what he said warrants any kind of suspension.

Oh yeah, the Thrashers suck. I'm not going to spend money on ticket to see them if they can't at least put a competitive product on the ice. Don Waddell is in his 9th season and after making the playoffs for the first time 2yrs ago (and getting swept in the first round) we've traded our best player (Hossa), had a terrible year last year and missed the playoffs and are in for another terrible year this year. Who decided that Don Waddell is this great franchise building GM????

In today's NHL that's even more important. You have 3 or 4 elite teams and then about 20 average teams. If you don't outwork the other team for 60minutes your going to lose. 3 & 4 goal leads aren't safe anymore either. You can't afford to take a 1/2 period off.

Got ya back last night! What a weird game. I thought we had you guys blown out at 6-3 but you didn't stop skating or attacking. Again we outshoot our opponent by a wide margain (38-25) but we're just squeaking out wins.

Yep!!! It's not how many slapshots you put on the net, it's how many you put IN the net that counts.

Default Wings

Even though our record is good I don't like how we're playing. After last night's come from behind win the AP had this to say....... DETROIT (AP) -The Detroit Red Wings' talent bailed them out after they were outplayed for most of the game. I completely agree and its a bad habit to get in. This won't fly in the playoffs.

The Wings have like an .876 goalie save record so it is their front end talent that has been carrying the rest of the team.

Your right. Plus we've been giving up an unusual amount of odd man rushes which hasn't helped out either.

GOALIES: W L OT Sv% GAA
T. Conklin 8 3 0 .902 2.82
C. Osgood 11 1 4 .876 3.17

Where's Hasek when you need him?
