The Captain has 5 shutots in 14 games, but is only tied for 10th in save %.

NHL #1 Star of the week, 11th in goals against for the season, 32.

We are still sitting on that CAP room of $8,000,000, and need goal production up front.

I hope I am still not harping on this at the end of the season.

Rangers still looking good, San Jose has taken the top now in the West.

Luongo is indeed in MVP form. Sundin would look good on a line with the twins.

The offer to Sundin was $20,000,000 over 2 years.

I don't think he is worth that.
I would rather see a couple of players for that price.

I heard Sundin was looking to sign in the East, Rangers?

I have to bust your chops for a minute. There is only one guy that can be called "The Captain" and that's Steve Yzerman. The longest serving Captain in NHL history at 20 straight seasons, he also has 3 Stanley Cup rings, a Conn Smythe, a Selke, a Lester B. Pearson, a Bill Masterton, 10 time All-Star, Retired Jersey, 6th all Time leading scorer in NHL history, Canadian Hall A Fame member & soon to be Hockey Hall a fame member..........................................ok ay I'm winded now.

He my friend was simply known as "The Captain"

Just had to set the record straight.

However Luongo is playing great, no doubt about it.

Years ago, we had another goalie, although he was not team captain, he was known as Captain Kirk.

Steve who?

Default Detroit Vs. Pittsburgh

Shootout at the OK Corral last night. Still waiting for Detroit to play defense. Osgood has yet to play up to the level that won a Cup last year. Lets give Jimmy Howard an opportunity in goal and put some pressure on Osgood to perform better or loose his starting position.

We dropped dish network and picked nhl gamecenter. At $21 a month it is a lot cheaper than satellite. The quality is good and most games are available. We watched the Bruins beat the Black Hawks.

Thrashers five game winning streak came to an end by Philly. For some reason that team has our number. For whatever reason we can never beat them.

Kovalchuk needs to pick up the scoring & stop making lazy passes in our end for God's sake!

Philly is not a cake walk.

Canucks on a road trip, Islanders first then Rangers.
Rangers should be a good gauge of their abilities.

Default That's more like it.

First dominate performance by the Wings this season. 4-0 win over the Oilers last night. Out shot them 41-21. Finally a good defensive game. Hopefully they can continue this type of play. There was even a good scrap with McCarty & Stortini . And plenty of end to end rushes with precision passing & scoring by Wings.

NHL.com - Game Boxscore: Edmonton @ Detroit - 11/17/2008

Tough game with the Islanders last night, but at least you pick up a point on the road though. Got to take every point you can get.

Sort of failed to show in the 2nd period.

Won't get away with that against the Rangers on Wed.

The past few years we had a problem playing 60 minutes of hockey.

Going back to Detroit to visit family for Thanksgiving. My brother is working on scoring some tickets for the Wings vs. Blue Jackets game on that Friday. Hopefully I can catch a game at the Joe while I'm up there.

Do you guys think McTavish calling out Penner worked?

I think it did and probably inspired the whole team to work a little harder too. Penner scored a goal while the Oilers scored 7 goals in total.

I had to pinch myself to make sure I was not dreaming in that first period.

They had the Rangers running for 2 periods last night.

I didn't catch that one. Was this after the Detroit loss?

Good win last night. Vancouver looked strong & Luongo continued his good play.

Penner is not earning his $21,000,000.

Another win for the Canucks! They're looking pretty good right now.

Yeah, the game after 4-0 the Detroit loss. He had been benched the last two games but was re-inserted into the lineup because Pisani broke his ankle.

This is what Mctavish said .....

"He's [Penner] not competitive enough or fit enough to help us, so why put him back in? He's never been fit enough to help us," MacTavish told the Edmonton Sun. "We signed him to be a top-two line player and that's kind of where it ended. The difference was we thought the contract was a starting point, and he's viewed it as a finish line. It's been one thing after another. I can't watch it for - certainly not another two and-a-half years."

Wow! No that's calling someone out! Do you agree with it?

I guess they played better last night (4-3 loss to Wings). But they spotted Detroit a 3-0 lead in the first B4 they decided to start playing.

It's not about who has the most talent, it's about you wants to outwork the other team. 90% of the time if you outwork the other team & play for a full 60 minutes your going to win even it the other team has more talent.

I view that statement as "Shape up or ship out".
