What a clincher for the Hawks last night. Kane has the first Blackhawk Hat Trick in the playoffs in 15 years. Conference finals here we come, bring on the Wings.

When was the last time the Hawks made it this far? Chicago Hockey fans must be beside themselves. I'm happy for them. Then I want to crush them! ..............................got to get past the Ducks first.

Three game Sevens on tap. It's do or die. No more excuses. If you don't win a game 7 you have no business complaining. That goes for my Wings especially. If your truely the better team you'll win game 7 at home. If not, then you choked!

Ok, I had to do some research on this one, not being a loyal hockey fanatic.
Here are some high(low)lights...
Feb 2004 Espn names Chicago Blackhawks worst franchise in pro sports.
2001-2002 last playoff appearance before this season.
1996 last post season series win before this season.
1995 last time Blackhawks were in Conference Finals and they lost to the Red Wings, let's hope history does not repeat.

Rocky Wirtz has performed a miracle with this franchise since his father's passing!

Vancouver blew their chance in game 4, Detroit should have put the Ducks away in game 6.

I have Detroit in the pool, but I expected more from them.

I sure like it when the Refs. don't have a reason to blow their whistles.

Yep! I don't like letting teams hang around longer than they should. Bad stuff usually happens when you do.

For some reason I don't remember the Wings playing the Hawks in 1995 conference finals. I think maybe that was the first round. I believe 1995 was the year the Redwings set an NHL record for most points in a season of like 132 points but then lost to Colordo in the Conference Finals and Colorado went on to win the Cup that year.

That was the Russion Five year with Federov, Konstantinov, Koslov, Larionov & Festiov. They also had Yzerman & Paul Coffey.

"For some reason I don't remember the Wings playing the Hawks in 1995 conference finals."
My research source also mentioned that year was shortened by a lockout?

I'm kickin' arse in my playoff pool. I've got 4 Ducks S. Niedermayer, Getzlaf, Perry, Ryan. 4 Blackhawks Havlat, Toews, Kane, Campbell and 2 Penguins Malkin and Guerin. I'm leading by 28 points. That being said I hope I just didn't Jinks myself.

Back in October I predicted that Chicago would win the Cup.

Yep your right. I was describing the following year 95-96 season. I still don't remember playing the Hawks that year, but I definitely remember getting our heads kicked in by NJ in the finals.

I really thought the Caps and Pens. would have an awesome
game 7. The Pens took it to them.

I hope Detroit and Boston both bring their "A" game.

C'mon boys don't let me down tonight. Shoot and shoot often I say. Osgood stand on your freakin' please. Datsyuk find a way to put one in the net. Don't fight them, out skate, out pass & out shoot them.

The Caps should have stayed home for that game, they were thoroughly outplayed by the Pens.

Detroit and Chicago
Pittsburgh and Carolina

lets see, Detroit beats Chicago for a trip to the finals and its a repeat of 2002 (Carolina) or 2008 (Pittsburgh)...

both teams have their motivation for beating the Red Wings, they both lost to the 'Wings in the aforementioned years...

it would have been MUCH BETTER if there was a repeat of 1942-43 when Detroit swept Boston for the cup. oh well, ill take the cup regardless of who we have to beat...

bring on #12!
