We finally got the forks rebuilt, got them on the bike, changed the oil, installed new exhaust studs, gaskets, new battery and WOW, what a difference. We still have a little drip coming from the drain plug, but It's nothing we can't live with. I gave him my old Kury Mirrors and got rid of those "Old 1981, Big As A Softball" mirrors, he took it up the street last night for the first time in about 4 Months, the grin on his face said it all. All we have left to do is install the chain and sprockets. $1,000.00 for the bike $100.00 to replace bent forks $120.00 to have forks rebuilt $55.00 for new oil and dust seals $130.00 for new chain and sprockets $25.00 for new battery $70.00 for misc. items (gaskets, studs, oil change, etc) Total..........$1500 Having a Father and son project....and riding together.........PRICELESS !!!!! |
